Privacy Policy — Mangrove Moon Books

Mangrove Moon Books ("we", "our") is a children's bedtime-story bookstore run as a Canadian sole proprietorship based in Prince Edward Island, Canada. This policy explains what information we collect and how we use it, in plain language.

What we collect

When you sign up for our free story or newsletter, we collect your email address — and only if you check the box agreeing to receive emails from us. You can unsubscribe at any time with the link at the bottom of every email.

When you buy a book, Shopify and our payment providers (PayPal, and others shown at checkout) collect the details needed to process your order: your name, email, billing country, and payment information. We see your order details in Shopify so we can deliver your download and help if something goes wrong. We never see or store your full payment card or bank details — those stay with the payment provider.

Cookies. Our store uses the standard cookies Shopify needs to run a shopping cart and remember your preferences, plus basic anonymous analytics (like how many people visited). No advertising trackers.

Children

Our books are written for kids ages 3–7, but our customer is always the parent or guardian. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Email signups and purchases are made by adults. If you believe a child has given us personal information, email us at mbjtrades@gmail.com and we will delete it promptly.

How we use your information

To deliver your free story or purchased books
To send the emails you signed up for (bedtime tips, new books, offers)
To process orders, prevent fraud, and provide customer support
To understand, in aggregate, how the store is doing

We do not sell your personal information to anyone, ever.

Your rights

You can ask us at any time to:

Tell you what personal information we hold about you
Correct it
Delete it (email us at mbjtrades@gmail.com)

Unsubscribing from marketing emails does not delete your order records, which we keep as required for tax and accounting purposes.

Where your data lives

Our store runs on Shopify and our emails through Shopify's email tools, which store data on secure servers in North America. Payment data is handled by our payment providers under their own privacy policies.
